Radio Sticker of the Day Mailbag - WOMC
Yesterday the mailman delivered another excellent haul of stickers courtesy of Dan Sys in Vancouver, British Columbia. I had been attempting to get a sticker from the station below multiple times since I started keeping records in 1997 but was never able to until now. Thanks Dan!

KKUA/KQMQ
AM 690 KKUA and "93Q FM" KQMQ were co-owned stations in Honolulu, Hawaii. It's unclear exactly when this sticker was from (I'm guessing 1982/83) but at one point the stations were simulcast. Prior to this, KKUA was a Top-40 station while KQMQ was Rock. AM 690 is currently News/Talk KHNR while KQMQ carries a Reggae/Hawaiian as "93.1 Da Pā'ina."

CIXL
After getting married yesterday evening, my wife Debbie and I drove to Niagara Falls for a short honeymoon. The Falls (and Debbie) were beautiful as always and it was fun hitting the casino and getting soaked on the Maid of the Mist.
As we drove into western New York, I started scanning the radio dial and it stopped at 91.7 FM which was playing "Tom Sawyer" by Rush. I thought it was odd that a station on that frequency was playing this before I remembered that Canada doesn't have to follow any 88.1 to 91.7 FM non-commercial band rules.
The station was CIXL "91.7 Giant FM," a Classic Rock station licensed to Welland, Ontario. It became my station of choice for our time in Niagara Falls and I especially liked hearing Canadian acts like Trooper, Colin James, Toronto, Streetheart and Bruce Cockburn which are unknown where I live.

WQRX
I was listening to the always-entertaining Rock And Roll Geek Show podcast recently and heard a song from Foxy Shazam called "Holy Touch." This catchy tune has been stuck in my head for about a week now and it won't go away. Damn you Michael Butler!
At the very end of the video, a DJ from the fictional station WQRX comes on and attempts to back announce the song over multiple false endings, getting cut-off in the process. The much better official video deletes this brief bit of radio, unfortunately.
The real WQRX is a Spanish Christian station licensed to Valley Head, Alabama. The top sticker probably dates to 1986 when they went on the air with an Oldies format. The bottom sticker is from 1992 when the Broadcasting Yearbook lists them as having a "Greatest Hits" format (despite the logo from Country band Alabama.) The decal is also autographed by station president Jeff Cook for some reason.
