Geneva-on-the-Lake / WKKY

Today we took a drive up to Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio for a few vacation days on Lake Erie. On the way to our bed & breakfast we stopped at the Harpersfield Covered Bridge, a beautiful structure crossing the Grand River in Ashtabula County. We would end up searching out about a dozen covered bridges during our three day stay. After checking in to the Lakehouse Inn we went to a beach in Geneva State Park and swam until rain clouds moved in. Later, on the way to dinner we stopped at a candy store for salt water taffy and then went to an antiques store where I found a giant bin of vintage pinback buttons. My patient wife and I sorted through them all in search of pins from radio stations. We ended up finding about a dozen from classical station WCLV in nearby Cleveland as well as a few keychains. After dinner we drove around aimlessly, listening to some refreshingly underplayed oldies on “Gold 93.7” WQGR and playing the Zillow-fueled “guess-how-much-this-lakefront-property-costs” game. Then we randomly came across Walnut Beach Park right at dusk in time to see a beautiful sunset. Today was a perfect day.

104.7 WKKY is a Country station licensed to Geneva, Ohio.  The pinback button was found at the aforementioned antiques store and dates to when they broadcast at 104.9 FM.

WCAM

1590 AM WCAM presumably broadcast a Rock format in (W) CAMden, South Carolina.

KYBY

103.5 FM KYBY is a 100-watt station licensed to Montgomery, Texas, about an hour north of Houston.  "Backyard Radio" went on the air in 2014.

KRGN

103.1 FM KRGN was a Religious station in Amarillo, Texas.  They were part of the Family Life Radio network of about 40 stations heard in 11 states.  FLR sold KRGN in 2014 but it doesn't appear that any station at the 103.1 FM frequency currently broadcasts in the Amarillo area.

KLGL

KLGL's Facebook page says that they're an Adult Top-40 station licensed to Salina, Utah.  They now broadcast at 94.5 FM and are also heard on a dozen translator stations throughout the state.

KETR

88.9 FM KETR (K East Texas Radio) is a 100,000-watt public radio station emanating from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

KAVO

107.1 FM KAVO was on the air circa the late 1970s/early 80s and licensed to Fallbrook, California near San Diego.  The 1981 Broadcasting Yearbook lists them as having a Beautiful Music format while the Wikipedia page of the current station at that frequency says they were Middle-of-the-Road.

K226BS "Hog Country 93.1 FM" is a translator station of 950 AM KFSA in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

WRPG

106.9 FM WRPG is a 96-watt, low-power FM station with a Religious format in Pikeville, North Carolina.

KUVA

102.3 FM KUVA plays Tejano music in (K) UVAlde, Texas.

CKMQ

"Q101.1" CKMQ is an Adult Contemporary station in Merritt, British Columbia.

Rete Radiofonica 100

According to the handwriting on the back of this sticker, Rete Radiofonica 100 broadcast from Nichelino in northern Italy.  They appear to be defunct as I can't find any other information about them online.

Radio Kortrijk

Radio Kortrijk is a defunct station that broadcast from Kortrijk in northwestern Belgium.  They went on the air in 1991.

WYNN

106.3 FM WYNN is an Urban Contemporary station in Florence, South Carolina.

It's unclear if this reflective WYNN sticker is from 106.3 FM or their sister station at 540 AM.  If you know, leave a comment.

"Q100" WQVR was a Country station licensed to Southbridge, Massachusetts.

 96.1 WKZQ is an Alternative Rock station in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Prior to 2008 WKZQ broadcast at 101.7 FM.  Formats over the years have included Beautiful Music, MOR, Top-40, AOR and Alternative Rock.

"Merle 96.7" WMYL plays a mix of classic and current Country music in Knoxville, Tennessee.
