WJBR

WJBR is an Adult Contemporary station in Wilmington, Delaware.  They went on the air with a Classical format, later changing to Beautiful Music and switched to AC in 1985.  Although their late 1970s slogan was "Just Beautiful Radio," the call letters actually stand for John B. Reynolds, Sr. who started the station with his son John B. Reynolds, Jr. in 1956.  WJBR was the first station to broadcast in stereo 24 hours a day and claims to be the first station to broadcast using only compact discs sometime in the late 1980s.
