Removed 2 KASH stickers from a 1956 Fender guitar case. Been on there since day 1. At the top it says "EVERYBODY LIKES KASH". The middle says; KASH. The bottom says; 1600 Eugene, Oregon 1600. I have 2 of them.
I was music Director here in 1968-69. It was still located next to a huge land fill near the Willamette River in what appeared to be a farm house but actually was built for the station (the owner was really offended when I mentioned what it looked like). There was a big stack of Sons of the Pioneers transcriptions, which someone threw into the land fill--think what they would be worth now. KASH and KEED--now a comedy station (what on earth does that sound like?) butted heads for many years over the big Top 40 honors. The station died in 1985, and now the wonderful KASH call is assigned to an FM in Alaska.
