104.1 KJJO went on the air in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota in 1981 carrying a Country format and later as an Oldies/Classic Hits outlet.
By 1986 they had transformed into a Hard Rock station as "Hot Rockin' 104" and later as just "Rock 104". As the 80s we on they went back and forth between a Heavy Metal station and mainstream Album Rock.
KJJO started adding more Alternative Rock to their playlist in 1990 and eventually became a full-time Modern Rock station as "KJ104" which lasted until 1992.
