WOCB

WOCB signed on the air in Cape Cod Massachusetts in 1940 at 1210 on the AM dial.  In the span of four years they moved to 1240 AM, went off the air completely due to money problems and then resumed broadcasting in May 1944.  A 1991 hurricane blew down their tower and the owners couldn't afford to rebuild.  The station was then sold and became WUOK.  WOCB was licensed to West Yarmouth, MA.

  1. It's currently WBAS, a Portuguese-language station. Spent a lot of time on the Cape, knew the station well.
