BBC GMR

British Broadcasting Corporation radio transmissions in Manchester, England began when BBC Radio Manchester launched in 1970.  A name change to BBC GMR (Greater Manchester Radio) took place in 1988 until 2006 when they retook the Radio Manchester branding.
