WPOM's call letters reflect their broadcast area of West Palm Beach, Florida. They've had multiple formats over the years including Top-40, All-News, Disco and a split format of Gospel and Blues. 1600 AM had the WPOM call letters from 1971 to 1999 and retook them again in 2015. Their format is currently listed as Ethnic.
in 1975, WPOM, West Palm Beach - provided all the news for The Treasure Coast at the top of the AM dial. in 1977, after the closure of NBC News & Information Service - the station had got the Treasure Coast newsroom. until the early 80's - the station also shifted to the Disco format.
