KTRO
1520 AM KTRO was a Spanish-language station licensed to Port Hueneme, California near Oxnard and Santa Barbara. They broadcast from 1984 to 1996 and eventually flipped to News/Talk with new call letters KVTA.
A few days after you posted this, you posted the old logo for KBBQ when it was Country. The KVTA News/Talk format moved to the former 1590 frequency of KBBQ in 2013.
I worked at both 1520 when it was top-40 KACY (pre-Radio Tiro) and at 1590 during the KBBQ years.
And the programming that was run on 1590 prior to 2013 ended up on 1400, which I was program director of (as KAAP) from 1978 to 1981.
And ... 1520 now carries the call letters KVEN, which were on 1450 during its entire history (1948 to 2021) ... and I lived less than three miles from them.
K.M.--I appreciate this and all of your other comments on other posts. The added history is valued and, with thousands of entries, there's no way I'd even attempt to keep up with format and frequency changes, stations going silent etc. Thank you.

Very small world for me.
