KPMC
KPMC (KPioneer Mercantile Company) went on the air in 1933 and was the first radio station in Bakersfield, California. 1560 AM is currently KNZR a News/Talk station.

As a kid in 1967, I enjoyed hanging out at KPMC radio station in Bakersfield California. The disk jockey was Tumbleweed Turner and he introduced me to people as they came in to record, or do whatever business people do.at a radio station. It was a part of my life that I enjoyed very much.
