WXYG

A locally-owned, Rock-formatted station on the AM dial is a total rarity in today's radio landscape.  But such an animal exists at WXYG "540 AM The Goat", an Album Oriented Rock station licensed to Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.  They went on the air in June, 2011.

KAYK / KXRK

KAYK was a Top-40 station in Provo, Utah from the mid-1970s until the mid-1980s.  In 1982, a young Glenn Beck deejayed at "K-96" but stayed less than a year because he "didn't fit in" with his Mormon co-workers.

After a call sign change to KFMY, 96.1 FM became KXRK in 1992 and flipped to its present Alternative format as "X96."  A wattage increase and frequency change to 96.3 FM occurred in 1996.

WSLV

Many websites list Ardmore, Tennessee's WSLV as being a Country station while Wikipedia says they carry a Variety format.  Listening live while writing this post I heard songs by Damn Yankees, Take That, Kiss, The Average White Band and the long version of "One Night In Bangkok" with the full orchestral introduction, something I probably haven't heard on the radio in thirty years.  The 1110 AM daytimer was once owned by country singer Ernie Ashworth and is now owned by his daughter Becky Parker.
