(NCI) began with broadcasts in northern Manitoba in September 1971.  The non-profit, public broadcaster currently airs on 59 transmitters covering 98% of the province with programming by and for Indigenous people.  The flagship station is 105.5 FM CINC in Winnipeg, MB.

R.I.P. Don Imus

Legendary broadcaster Don Imus passed away today at age 79.  He was on the air for almost 50 years and at one time was syndicated on over 70 stations.  Imus' career was overshadowed by a racial slur against the Rutgers University women's basketball team which resulted in the cancellation of his Imus in the Morning show by CBS Radio.
