Active Rock outlet CKUE went on the air in 1999 at 94.3 FM.  They switched frequencies to 95.1 FM in 2002.  "The Rock" lasted until 2014 when they made a half-hearted attempt as a Soft AC station and soon after flipped to Variety Hits as "Cool FM".  95.1 FM CKUE is licensed to Chatham-Kent, Ontario while 100.7 FM CKUE-1 is licensed to Windsor, ON.

Radio KLA




Radio KLA broadcasts at 91.7 FM to the coastal resort city of Mar del Plata in east/central Argentina.  The following was copied off their website and run through Google Translate:

"Sports Radio 740" WMSP is licensed to Montgomery, Alabama.  They have carried a Sports talk format since 1995.
I can only assume that The Phantom is or was a show host on WMSP.  The only hit that Google comes up with are some "Phantom Premium" football picks from 2012.  He also looks a lot more like The Invisible Man than the purple costumed Phantom.

WJPS

A 1998 sticker from WJPS licensed to Chandler, Indiana.  They stopped playing Oldies in 2005 and flipped to Country as WLFW "The Wolf".  The call letters stood for (W) J. Porter Smith who helped put former sister station WJPS AM 1330 on the air back in the 1940s.
93.5 is currently branded as "Duke FM" with a Classic Country format.

ESPN Radios

ESPN Radio launched on January 1, 1992 under the name SportsRadio ESPN with Keith Olbermann hosting the first program.  They originally broadcast on weekends only.  ESPN Radio now boasts hundreds of affiliates nationwide, some dedicating their entire format to it while others choose individual shows and intersperse local hosts into their lineup.


KESN "ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM" began broadcasting in April, 2001.  They are one of five stations that is actually owned by ESPN but operated by Cumulus Media under a local marketing agreement.  KESN is licensed to Allen, Texas.



Las Vegas, Nevada's "ESPN Radio 920" existed until 2008 when KBAD became a Fox Sports Radio affiliate.  They now carry programming from NBC Sports Radio as "920 The Game".

1390 AM WEOK and 1390 AM WALL were simulcast ESPN affiliates for a brief time in the early 2000s.  Licensed to Poughkeepsie, New York, WEOK is now Spanish Adult Hits "Juan AM" while WALL became a Classic Hits station in November, 2015.

WIIZ

A t-shirt from Alternative Rock outlet "98.7 The Wizard" WIIZ.  They went on the air in the early 1990s in Lafayette, Indiana and were often described as a musical clone to Chicago's WXRT.  The short-lived station probably wasn't helped any by this silly doodle of a logo.  98.7 FM is now Classic Hits WASK.

Super Bowl 50

Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California is the site for tonight's Super Bowl which pits the Carolina Panthers againts the Denver Broncos. I'll be rooting for the Panthers because free safety Kurt Coleman is a local kid and because they are one of the 13 franchises that has never won the Lombardi Trophy.

News/Talk 1110 AM WBT is the flagship station of the Carolina Panthers radio network.  This temporary tattoo features the team logo that was used from their inception in 1995 until 2011.


1280 AM KBNO is a Regional Mexican station in Denver, Colorado.  At one time they carried Broncos games in Spanish but no longer appear on the list of team radio affiliates.
