Radio at of the University of Calgary began with a carrier current station soon after the campus opened in 1960. A cable FM station began in 1972 and CJSW officially went on the air in 1985. The 18,000-watt station is run by a small staff along with more than 200 campus and community volunteers.

BBC CWR (Coventry and Warwickshire Radio) is the British Broadcasting Corporation's local radio station for the two aforementioned areas of central England. Besides 103.7 FM they are heard on 94.8 and 104.0 FM. BBC CWR began broadcasting in January 1990.

Atlanta, Georgia's 1480 AM WYZE has been a Gospel station off and on since the late 1960s. They went off the air in 2018 but it appears they have a construction permit that expires in 2026.

1490 AM WOLF has been on the air in Syracuse, New York since 1940. They switched call letters multiple times in the 1980s but became WOLF again in 1989. Notable former employees include television host Dick Clark and sportscaster Marv Albert both of whom attended Syracuse University. Today WOLF is a Fox Sports Radio affiliate.

KTRH
KTRH has been on the air in Houston, Texas since 1929. One of their early broadcasting locations was (K) The Rice Hotel which was operated by the station's owner Jesse H. Jones. KTRH was located on multiple frequencies throughout the 1930s and early '40s before landing at 740 AM in 1942. Famous former KTRH employees include newscaster Dan Rather who was an anchor and reporter in the late 1950s and sports announcer Jim Nantz who worked there while in college in the late 1970s and early '80s. Today the 50,000-watt station carries a News/Talk format. Houston Rockets and Astros games are now heard on their sister station KBME.

Radio Down-Town began broadcasting in the mid-1980s from a pub in downtown Erlangen, Germany. The writing translates to "There is always a clever head in front of it" which explains Einstein's face and perhaps the fact that the DJs probably stared at a lot of foamy beer heads through the glass of their studio in the middle of a bar.
