Originally a closed-circuit radio station broadcasting only to campus housing,
CKDU officially began licensed broadcasting in 1984 at 97.5 FM from
Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2000 they moved to 88.1 FM and enjoyed an increase in their transmitter power from 33 to 520 watts. The typeface and shadowing of the second CKDU decal looks awfully similar to a certain
fictional midwestern station, don't you think?
