KQSN

KQSN "99.3 The Hawk" was a Classic Hits station in Yakima, Washington.

In 2006 KQSN flipped to Spanish Oldies as "La Preciosa."  99.3 FM is currently News/Talk KIT licensed to Naches, WA.

AMI Radio

AMI Radio broadcasts at 1700 AM from Anna Maria Island off the western coast of Florida.  They are a Part 15 microbroadcaster that plays commercial-free music from local musicians. 

Country Radio

Based in Prague in the Czech Republic and established in 1991, Country Radio is the first Country music station in Europe.

KIMY

93.9 FM KIMY plays Gospel music in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  The Watonga, Oklahoma-licensed station was formerly a Country station and used to broadcast at 93.5 FM. 

WNYU

WNYU is the student-run, campus radio station at (W) New York University in New York City.  The 89.1 FM frequency was originally reserved for the United Nations but was never used.  WNYU shares the dial position with Fairleigh Dickinson University's WFDU.

KBZY

1490 AM KBZY plays Oldies in Salem, Oregon.  They went on the air in May 1957.

WRMB

WRMB is a Religious station licensed to Boynton Beach, Florida.  They are part of the Moody Radio Network of stations.

R.I.P. Casey Kasem

Hall of Fame radio personality Casey Kasem passed away yesterday at age 82.  Kemal Amin "Casey" Kasem was born in Detroit in 1932 and was a member of the radio club at Northwestern High School and graduated Wayne State University in 1957.  He was the host of the legendary "American Top 40" countdown show from 1970 until 2009.

WDET is a public radio station in (W) DETroit, Michigan.  They were originally owned by the United Auto Workers union before being sold to Wayne State University in 1952 for one dollar.  They are one of the few public radio stations that operate on a commercial frequency.  Casey Kasem kept close ties with Wayne State, even appearing on billboards for the school back in the 1980s.  He's wearing a school alumni hat in the top photo.

WMQZ

A static window sticker from WMQZ "Mix 104.1" in Colchester, Illinois.  The station is now an Oldies/classic Hits outlet with programming from Scott Shannon's satellite-fed True Oldies Channel.

WJMO

WJMO was an R&B station in Cleveland, Ohio from 1959 to 1999.  The 1490 AM frequency is now WERE, a News/Talk station.

WDAT

A mid-1980s sticker from Country station WDAT in (W) DAyTona Beach, Florida.  1380 AM is currently News/Talk "Goliath Radio" WELE licensed to Ormond Beach, FL.

WKTZ / WJAX

90.9 WKTZ has been an Easy Listening/Beautiful Music station since 1964.  They are operated, along with AM 1220 WJAX, by Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida. 

KXOJ

100.9 KXOJ is a Contemporary Christian station licensed to Sapulpa, Oklahoma, part of the Tulsa radio market.  They went on the air in 1977.

96 Rock Mystery Sticker

My buddy Dan in British Columbia sent me this scan from an unknown station.  My first thought was that it was from KPOI in Honolulu but, although they used the exact same logo, KPOI is known as "98 Rock."  My "stickers received" file shows three stations using the "96 Rock" branding:  KRZQ - Reno, Nevada, WBBB - Raleigh, North Carolina and WKLS - Atlanta, Georgia.  None of these stations use(d) this logo.  There is also a "96 Rock" in Cincinnati but their vintage logo doesn't match either.  Anyone know what station this mystery sticker is from?

KPOV

KPOV went on the air on June 26th, 2005 at 106.7 FM in Bend, Oregon.  The non-commercial, volunteer-run, 1,100 watt station now broadcasts at 88.9 FM.

Radio Alba

Radio Alba plays contemporary pop music in Alba, Italy.  This private station began broadcasting in 1976.

KULF

94.1 KULF was a Country station licensed to Brenham, Texas.  The frequency is currently home to "Lite 94.1" KLTR, an Adult Contemporary station.

CHYZ

94.3 CHYZ is a French-language, campus radio station at Université Laval in Quebec City, Quebec. 

Radio Robledo

Radio Robledo broadcasts at 1580 AM from Cartago, Colombia.  They are part of the RCN Radio Network (Radio Cadena Nacional) based in Bogotá.

KMJR

KMJR "La Caliente 98.3 FM" is a Regional Mexican station licensed to Odem, Texas.
