WJKC

Our vacation this year took us back to Puerto Rico with a side trip to the Virgin Islands.  We hit a LOT of beaches including Magen's Bay, Trunk Bay and the insanely gorgeous Lindquist Beach on the northeast shore of St. Thomas. 

We pretty much had this beach to ourselves apart from a crazy local who spent a full hour talking to birds, rubbing herself with sand and "taking a bath" in the crystal clear water.

Radio-wise I really liked listening to Tradewinds Radio and Pirate Radio in the Virgin Islands and Alfa Rock in Puerto Rico.  They drive on the left in the VI so I tried not to change stations too often and concentrate on driving and not crashing our rental car.

"Isle 95" WJKC airs an Urban Contemporary/Hip Hop/Reggae format licensed to Christiansted, VI.

CICK

93.9 FM CICK is a non-profit, volunteer-operated, community radio station in Smithers, British Columbia.  They began broadcasting in January, 2010 from an on-air studio located in a converted train car.

KYLD

 "Wild 94.9" KYLD is a CHR station in San Francisco, California.

Prior to 1997, the station existed at 107.7 FM (originally with the call letters KSOL).  "Wild 107.7" was licensed to San Mateo, CA.

WPYM

"Party 93.1" WPYM was a Dance music station in Miami, Florida from 2002 until 2005.

Fly FM

Fly FM 89.7 began broadcasting from Sparta, Greece in 1991.  They air a mix of Greek and international pop music as well as providing a news service.

Radio Freequenns

100.8 FM Radio Freequenns is a non-commercial, "free radio" station headquartered in Liezen, Austria.  They began broadcasting in April, 1999.

WWBR

"102.7 The Bear" was a Rock station in Detroit, Michigan circa the mid-to-late 1990s.  Musician/hunter Ted Nugent was the morning man on WWBR and hosted the show from his barn.  "The Bear" eventually evolved into a Classic Rock station and in 1999 flipped to Adult Contemporary as "Kiss 102.7" WDMK.  WWBR was licensed to Mount Clemens, MI.

WNUE

WNUE is a full-time Tropical/Salsa station in Orlando, Florida. 

From 2010 to 2012, WNUE carried a Spanish Adult Hits format as "Mega 98.1".  At that time they were licensed to Titusville, FL and are currently licensed to Deltona, FL.

WKSW

WKSW was a Country station licensed to Urbana, Ohio from 1987 until 2011.

WGCU WMKO

90.1 FM WGCU airs a mix of NPR programming and Jazz music in Fort Myers, Florida.  They are owned by (W) Florida Gulf Coast University.  91.7 FM WMKO, a 6900-watt repeater station licensed to Marco Island, FL signed on in 1999.

WBTT

"Hit Radio B97" WBTT was a short-lived Top-40 station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin circa 1984/85.

KUNR

88.7 FM KUNR broadcasts from The (K) University of Nevada, Reno.  Their system of 15 translator stations covers more than 100,000 square miles in Nevada and California.

KRAK AM & FM

 1140 AM KRAK was a long-time Country station in Sacramento, California.

Sacramento's KRAK FM was a Country outlet from 1994 until 1998.  98.5 FM is currently a Rock station KRXQ. 

KIOL

KIOL "Rock 103.7" broadcast in Houston, Texas from 2005 to 2007.

KCBS

KCBS in Los Angeles, California was branded as "Arrow 93 FM" from 1993 to 2005.  They carried a Classic Hits format which took them from 18th to 3rd place in the Arbitron listener ratings by the end of their first year.  More KCBS stickers can be seen here.

CFFM

CFFM "The Max" was an Adult Contemporary station licesned to Williams Lake, British Columbia with repeaters in 100 Mile House and Quesnal, BC

KSLX

100.7 FM KSLX is a Classic Rock station licensed to Scottsdale, Arizona near Phoenix.

Surfs

WSFM "Surf 98.3" was an Alternative Rock station in Wilmington, North Carolina from 2004 until 2011.

WSFM was originally located at 107.5 FM.

WXLS "Surf 107.1 FM" was a Light Rock station licensed to Gulfport, Mississippi.

"104.9 The Surf" WLHH (We Love Hilton Head) is a Classic Hits station licensed to Ridgeland, South Carolina.

WQAQ

98.1 FM WQAQ is the student-run station at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

Südfunk 1

German radio stickers can sometimes be difficult to figure out.  Take this decal for example:  I think "Südfunk 1" was a 1980s-era radio program heard on a station (also called Südfunk) which was formerly called Süddeutsche Rundfunk which merged with Südwestfunk to form Südwestrundfunk....or something.  The RFW logo at the bottom of the sticker stands for Rundfunkwerbung which is/was.....uh, who the hell knows.  The station was originally based in Stuttgart, Germany and later moved to Mannheim.  If you have any additional information/clarification, leave a comment.
