Actually KAST FM didn't technically go silent, they were sold to Salem Communications who moved the station from the Oregon Coast to Gladstone, OR (in the Portland suburbs) and it evolved into Spanish language KRYP 93.1.

KAST AM is a News/Talk station licensed to (K) ASToria, Oregon. Soft Rock KAST FM went silent in 2006.
