KDHI was located at 1250 AM and licensed to Twentynine Palms, California. Not sure what their format was and there doesn't appear to be a station licensed to that city at that spot on the dial anymore. Any further info on KDHI would be greatly appreciated.

KDHI am 1250 had gone through several different formats, and owners before being bought out by Gary DeMaroney and call signs were changed... 1250 am now is owned by MOrris desert media, broiadcasting news talk format...
KDHI-AM 1250 went on the air back in the early 60's and they played Top 40 music. They later changed the format to news/talk when satellite radio programming became available in the 80's.
In 1988 and 1989 they had a country music/talk radio format. At the same time, sister station KQYN 95.7 FM was broadcasting out of the same location with a rock format. KDHI signed off at midnight or earlier, depending upon the day of the week, and KQYN broadcast 24/7.
I applied for work at KDHI in 1963. Watched as the manager went through a stack of 45s -- dropping the needle on each one for a few seconds, then throwing most of them in the trash. Didn’t get the job, but probably wouldn’t have lasted long anyway. Too frantic.
