Adventist World Radio



Adventist World Radio broadcasts Religious programming via shortwave, AM, FM, satellite, podcasting and the internet.  Their potential audience of over 4 billion people spans across an area located between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude--a region that includes North Africa, the Middle East and much of Asia and the Pacific.  Seventh Day Adventist radio broadcasting began in 1923 with a single station in Michigan.  In 1971 they began shortwave transmissions from Portugal aimed at Communist countries in Europe.  AWR currently broadcasts in 80 languages and are based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
