Radio at Atlanta, Georgia's
Emory University began in 1983 with station WEMO. In 1989 WMRE was launched as a carrier current station heard on 590 AM. Today they are heard on the internet and Emory cable channel 26 as well as 1660 AM (well, maybe....as of a couple years ago they did broadcast terrestrially with very low power but there doesn't seem to be any mention of 1660 AM on
their website.) WMRE also publishes
Frequency, a once-per-semester, student-produced music and culture magazine.
