Rice University in Houston, Texas. They began in 1967 as KHCR (K Hanszen College Radio) a two-watt engineering project run through the college's buzzer system and turned into a 50,000-watt college radio monster over the ensuing decades. In 2011 Rice sold the station to the public radio network of the University of Houston for $9.5 million.
Rice Radio now broadcasts at 96.1 FM with the official call letters KBLT-LP although they still use KTRU for marketing purposes.
The bottom two decals were generously donated to Radio Sticker of the Day by Jennifer Waits, the writer behind the excellent college radio blog Spinning Indie. Thanks Jennifer!
She also writes for Radio Survivor which has her article about KTRU sticker art as well as other college radio happenings.
