WHN

The history of WHN in New York City dates back to March, 1922 when they went on the air at 833 AM.  Multiple frequency changes occurred in their first years of existence before they finally moved to 1050 AM in 1941.  A call letter change to WMGM took place in 1948, but in a rare FCC move, was allowed to revert to their original 3-letter call sign in 1962.  WHN was a Country station when this sticker came out in the mid-1980s.  In 1987, 1050 AM became the first all-Sports radio station in the country when they became WFAN.
