CFAI
101.1 FM CFAI is a station from Edmundston, New Brunswick along with a rebroadcaster located at 105.1 FM licensed to Grand-Sault, NB. After spending a few minutes unsuccessfully trying to find the history of CFAI at 1500 AM, I realized that the sticker actually reads "15 ans" and that ans is French for "years." Boy am I stupid. CFAI is listed as a Rock station in multiple places but their playlist seems to include a lot of Top-40 acts. It's safe to say that they're a CHR station at this point.

Radio FM Plus
Radio FM Plus plays the "Greatest hits of the 80 years to the present," according to Google Translate's version of their website (I'm guessing "80 years" is actually "the 1980s.") They broadcast on 10 frequencies throughout the western part of the Czech Republic aka Bohemia.

Calgary Stampede
The Calgary Stampede --the world's largest rodeo--begins today and lasts through July 18th. My favorite part is the always-entertaining and frequently terrifying chuckwagon races which first started at the Stampede in 1923.

Ziplining
Took my son zip-lining through the canopy of the Hocking Hills this afternoon. After a short lesson on our equipment and how to brake, it was off to the cables to fling ourselves from tree to tree. It was tons of fun and something we'll definitely do again. Here's a clip of myself on one of the shorter runs followed by my son who strapped the camera to his chest.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the dog days of summer in the northern hemisphere begin today and last until August 11th. This coincides with the rising--at sunrise--of the Dog Star, Sirius...hence the name "dog days."

KBRJ
KBRJ was a Country station from Boise, Idaho in the 1970s. The call letters stood for station owner Burt Oliphant, station manager Rex Jensen and sales manager Jack Jensen. In 1981 they changed their call letters to KKIC while retaining the Country format. A former PD of this station told me that it was the first station in the country to all-satellite. This took place on August 31, 1981 at 6AM as an affiliate of Satellite Music Network's "Country Coast To Coast." 950 AM is currently a Southern Gospel station "K-Joy" KNJY.
