This sticker has been difficult to identify. Someone wrote KKCS and KXXX on the back of it but I think it's actually from KXXV. The decal is definitely from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I found an April, 1979 newspaper article mentioning "15KX" and their seven-story hot air balloon where on Easter they dropped KX eggs with money and bumper stickers in them (probably the above sticker.) The article also mentions their "No Bee Gees Weekend" as well as the station-sponsored "We Protest KX Refusing to Play the Bee Gees" protest. The Broadcasting Yearbook from that same year lists 1530 AM as having the call letters KXXV. In 1978 they were KRYT and '80, '81 and '82 they were KKCS so the KXXV calls match the "15KX" branding better. Anybody know for sure what the call letters of this sticker was? Leave a comment and more importantly email me at radiodecals@gmail.com. The comments on this blog have changed and I'm not positive that I'm notified any more when a comment is left.
UPDATE: This decal is indeed from KXXV "on the disco side of your dial." Thanks for the confirmation Joel and Christopher!

The JACK FM Depository
There are so many damn JACK FM stations. I hate them. The (usually) DJ-less "Adult Hits" stations began popping up in the early 2000s, first in Canada, then the United States, the United Kingdom and even Russia. Most of them use the same stupid logo which seems to be a requirement if you use the trademarked branding. It just seems like a lazy choice if you're looking to change your format, fire all your live jocks and basically become a jukebox on the radio. Even their snotty "playing what we want" slogan annoys me along with their pride in NOT taking requests. Screw you, Jack.
Having said that, I've decided to place all future JACK FM stickers in this single post since they're virtually the same design anyway. I've posted plenty of JACK decals over the past 10 years which, if you're bored, can be seen here. And here. And here. And here. And here. And here. And here. And here.
KJKK - Dallas, Texas
KPKR - Parker, Arizona
KLXS - Pierre, South Dakota

WROG
A 1994 sticker from "G103" WROG, a Country station in Cumberland, Maryland. The 102.9 FM frequency went silent in 2008.
KUSA
550 AM in St. Louis, Missouri carried the KUSA call letters from 1983 to 1993. This sticker dates to 1984 when they carried a Country music format.
While listening to the above aircheck I was surprised to hear them playing Lionel Richie's "Stuck On You", but after re-listening to the entire song it seems to fit nicely within the format. It turns out that the song reached #24 on the Country chart and was promoted to C&W radio stations which explains Richie dressed in western gear on the single's record sleeve.
