WWSW went on the air in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1931 broadcasting at 1500 AM. In 1949 they moved to 970 AM. For many years they carried an MOR format but were a Country outlet circa the late 1970s when the above decal was printed.

Then WWSW-AM is now today WBGG-AM with all-sports formatted "Fox Sports 970 and 104.7 HD2". The 104.7 HD2 refers to sister-station WPBG-HD2, also licensed to Pittsburgh.
WWSW-FM remains "3WS", with the aforementioned Classic Hits format. Typically 3WS and sister-station WDVE vie for 1st place (with 3WS taking 1st away from DVE in the last PPM rating). 60s and 70s Oldies can still be heard on 3WS, just via their HD2, which is aptly named "3WS HD2".
But was it WWSW-FM use to be WPEZ?
94.5 FM was WPEZ from 1973 to 1980.
