EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) - Irondale, Alabama   EWTN is a Catholic cable television network as well as radio network providing programming to around 350 stations in the US as well as satellite and shortwave radio.

KVMR



89.5 FM KVMR (K Victorian Museum Radio) is a non-profit, community radio licensed to Nevada City, California.  Programming is heard on multiple other stations and translators spread throughout the Sierra foothills.

KNIM

A 2005 decal from KNIM "97.1 The 'Vill" in Maryville, Missouri.  They were a Classic Rock station when this sticker was printed.  KNIM changed call letters to KVVL in 2010 to better reflect their branding and in 2022 they flipped from Classic Rock to Alternative Rock.

CFRU






93.3 FM CFRU is a volunteer-run, campus and community radio station broadcasting from the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario.  Official radio transmissions at the school began in 1969 with carrier current station Radio Gryphon.  Broadcasts moved on to Guelph's cable FM system and then AM before moving to FM in 1980.  CFRU airs a wide mix of music, news, spoken word and foreign language programs.

WFIX


91.3 FM WFIX is a 100,000-watt Contemporary Christian station in Florence, Alabama.  Before 2000 they broadcast at 93.9 FM licensed to Rogersville, AL.  They may or may not have had any connection to another WFIX that existed in nearby Huntsville from 1960 to 1990.

WAMI

860 AM WAMI (Where Agriculture Meets Industry) went on the air in 1953 from Opp, Alabama.  The station has been dark for years beginning some time around 2017.  It appears that they now have a construction permit to move up to 880 AM but are not on the air as of this posting.

KGAL / KSHO




The original KGAL went on the air in 1951 at 930 on the AM dial.  The call letters were chosen for the owner (and UFOlogist) (K) Gordon ALlen.  KGAL moved to 920 AM in 1954 and switched call letters to KSHO in 1991.  They currently carry an AC/Soft Rock format.  Sister station 1580 AM KGAL began broadcasting in 1995 and carries a News/Talk/Sports format.  Both stations are licensed to Lebanon, Oregon.

This 1976 UFO documentary "Overlords of the UFO" was written and produced by the aforementioned Gordon Allen.

WREL

1450 AM WREL has been on the air in Lexington, Virginia since 1948.  They currently air a Sports format affiliated with the Fox Sports Radio network.  Their call letters were named for Virginia native and Confederate War general (W) Robert E Lee who is buried at Washington & Lee University in Lexington.

91.7 FM WEEM is the student-run station at Pendleton Heights High School in Pendleton, Indiana.  They've been on the air since 1971 and airs a CHR format on a 1,200-watt signal.

WHBQ AM & FM




WHBQ-AM went on the air in March 1925 in Memphis, Tennessee.  They were a Top-40 station from the 1950s until the early 1980s and were the first radio station to broadcast an Elvis Presley song.  Later formats included Oldies, Talk, Country and currently Sports.  Sister station WHBQ "Q107.5" airs an Adult Top-40 format.

KHUM

104.7 FM KHUM airs a wide-ranging Adult Album Alternative format in Eureka, California.  They are also heard on a translator station at 104.3 FM.  KHUM went on the air in January 1996.

Radio Lauragais

Radio Lauragais was on the air from 1984 until 1997 in Revel, France.  Leo Lagrange was a Socialist and Minister for Sports in the French government circa the 1930s who later died in World War II.  It's unclear what the connection, if any, there was between him and Radio Lauragais.

4EL

846 AM broadcasts from Cairns, Queensland, Australia.  The database for the Australian Communications and Media Authority still lists them as having the call sign 4EL but their website carries the logo 4CA along with a Classic Hits format.  I'm too lazy to figure out which call sign is accurate.  Leave a comment if you know.

WRGW

Radio broadcasting on the campus of George Washington University in Washington, DC dates back to the late 1950s.  WRGW began as a carrier current station and appeared on different frequencies including 660 AM and 540 AM.  Today WRGW is an online-only station airing more than 100 distinct music, news, talk and sports programs.

WPNA



1490 AM WPNA (W Polish National Alliance) was a Polish/International station in Chicago, Illinois.  They were the sister station to Polish CHR outlet WPNA FM.  In 2022 WPNA AM was sold and changed call letters to WEUR while retaining the Polish-language/Ethnic format.
