WREL

1450 AM WREL has been on the air in Lexington, Virginia since 1948.  They currently air a Sports format affiliated with the Fox Sports Radio network.  Their call letters were named for Virginia native and Confederate War general (W) Robert E Lee who is buried at Washington & Lee University in Lexington.
UPDATE:  WREL dropped Sports for Classic Country a few weeks ago.  See comments.

Yup, totally blaming Wikipedia for this one. :)

A couple months ago, WREL dropped their sports format for Classic Country branded as "Big Dawg 100.3".

Trivia: Approximately 95% of Stonewall Jackson is also buried in Lexington. His right arm is buried in Spotsylvania County, Virginia (near Fredericksburg).

Rock Trivia: Several members of the heavy metal band Baroness grew up in Lexington, though the band was officially formed in Savannah.

Minor edit: "The Voice of Rockbridge" is in reference to Rockbridge County, which surrounds the City of Lexington and the City of Buena Vista (which are Independent Cities, seperate of Rockbridge County). While independent of Rockbridge, Lexington is the county seat of Rockbridge (it's a weird Virginia thing).

Yep. Wiki steered me wrong so I'll blame them! I updated the post.
