Tampa's WDAE (Wonderful Days And Evenings) is credited as the first radio station to be licensed in the state of Florida having gone on the air at 833 AM in May, 1922. They carried a Top-40 format when this sticker came out in the 1970s or early 1980s. Lieutenant Al Ford was a popular traffic reporter for WDAE (and later WSUN.) He passed away in 2008.
1250 AM is now News/Talk "Impact Radio" WHNZ. The WDAE call letters live on at 620 AM in Tampa at "The Sports Animal."
