KZEW

KZEW was a Progressive/Album Rock station in Dallas, Texas through most of the 1970s and 80s.  They began in 1973 after WFAA flipped from Beautiful Music to Freeform Rock and became "The Zoo."  For many years a quadruple-winged elephant creature named Zoo Loo was the station mascot.  Lots of KZEW stickers, photos and other memorabilia can be found on this tribute site including the very first KZEW sticker featuring a wingless Zoo Loo.

A few years ago I bought this CD of commercials that ran on KZEW featuring concerts that were coming to Dallas as well as record and movie releases.  All the spots were produced in-house and voiced by KZEW DJs.  Three other volumes with commercials from 1973 through 1977 are available as well.  Get yours here.
