KOY
Phoenix's KOY is the oldest radio station in Arizona dating back to 1921 when experimental station 6BBH went on the air. Call letter changes to KDYM and KFCB followed and they became KOY in 1929, located at 1390 AM on the dial. An almost 60 year run at 550 AM began around 1940 and lasted until 1999 when they switched to their current location at 1230 AM. KOY's current Business News format is branded as "KFYI." 550 AM currently carries the actual KFYI call letters and carries a News/Talk format. The groovy, 1970s/early 80s-era logo of the top sticker dates to when KOY probably had a Middle-of-the-Road format.
