KCPR (K Cal Poly Radio) is a volunteer-run, freeform station from the campus at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. KCPR's 2000-watt signal covers about a 50 mile radius around SLO.This site has some great station pictures from the mid-1970s, about seven years after KCPR first went on the air. It also mentions the beginnings of a certain curly-haired, accordion-playing parody artist who got his start at the station.
