1450 AM WREL has been on the air in Lexington, Virginia since 1948. They currently air a Sports format affiliated with the Fox Sports Radio network. Their call letters were named for Virginia native and Confederate War general (W) Robert ELee who is buried at Washington & Lee University in Lexington.
