Shania Twain

I received a package of radio stickers a few days ago (thanks Dan!) and this stamp was included on one of the inner envelopes.  Wow!  I didn't know that Canada had a Shania Twain postage stamp and it's a shame that the postmark had to cut right across her picture.

Shania is featured on two radio stickers in the collection.  This one is from KTOM licensed to Marina, California.
FM 99.9 KGEE was licensed to Monahans, Texas and is now Rock station KBAT.

The first regular-season Chicago Cubs game was broadcast on 720 AM WGN in April, 1925 (seventeen years after they last won the World Series.)  Cubs games have been heard exclusively on the station since 1958.  This longtime partnership ends today as the News/Talker airs its last Cubs game before the team begins a seven-year deal with 780 AM WBBM.  WGN was losing money on the games and cited low ratings during the team's recent on-field struggles as the reason they exercised an out-clause in its broadcast contract.

Rock stations in the Bay area and ended up flipping to Top-40 in 1984.  The KMEL "All Hit 106" sticker above was one of the first decals added to my collection when they mailed it to me in 1985.  As the decade progressed, KMEL's CHR format started leaning more Urban and they eventually went full-time Hip Hop/R&B by 1992.
