WXKW AM & FM

WXKW AM pumped out Country music in Allentown, Pennsylvania from 1985 until 1993. 1470 AM is currently a Sports station known as "The Fox."

WXKW FM played Country music from around 1978 until 1985.  104.1 FM is currently Top-40 WAEB "B104"

WQIX

WQIX was a Country station licensed to Horseheads, New York. 100.9 FM still carries the same format but is now a pork-based Country station.

WKQQ

WKQQ is a Rock station in Lexington, Kentucky. Sometime in the late 1990s "Double Q" switched from 98.1 FM to their current home at 100.1 FM. WKQQ is licensed to Winchester, KY.

WEEX

WEEX (W Easton EXpress Broadcasting) has been on the air in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania since 1956. 1230 AM is licensed to Easton, PA and are now an ESPN Radio affiliate. They also simulcast on 1320 AM WTKZ licensed to Allentown, PA.

Mystery Sticker #16

Anybody know where this Radio Fantasy sticker is from? There are a few current "Fantasy" stations in Slovenia, Italy, Belgium and Germany but none of them are at 96.8 FM. My gut tells me that it's an early-80s Italian station but who knows...

KXKS

KXKS is a Country station from Shreveport, Louisiana.

KPUP, KHIP & KRXA

KPUP was an Oldies station licensed to Gonzales, California.

104.3 FM is currently Classic Rock KHIP "The Hippo."

540 AM is now KRXA which carries a progressive Talk format. KRXA is licensed to Carmel Valley, CA.

KIIZ

"Z92.3" KIIZ is an Urban Contemporary station from Killeen, Texas.

KAAQ / KQSK

105.9 FM KAAQ and 97.5 FM KQSK simulcast a Country format to western Nebraska as well as parts of Wyoming and Colorado. KAAQ is licensed to Alliance, NE and KQSK is licensed to Chadron, NE.

Radio Mainwelle

Radio Mainwelle has been broadcasting from Bayreuth, Germany since 1987. They would probably be categorized as a Hot Adult Contemporary station. Here's what I heard them play while making this post:

1 WAY FM is a Contemporary Christian / Religious Teaching station from Canberra, Australia.

KJCC

KJCC was a Country station from Lake Havasu City, Arizona. 92.7 FM now appears to be K224BV, a translator for KJJJ licensed to Kingman, AZ. My records show KJCC as having been licensed to Dolan Springs, AZ but this could be wrong.

WCFB

"Star 94.5 FM" WCFB (W Central Florida's Broadcaster) is an Urban Adult Contemporary station licensed to Daytona Beach, Florida.  They carried a Country format circa the early 1990s when the top sticker was printed.

WWBB

"B101" WWBB (We Want Baby Boomers--from their earlier Oldies format) is a Classic Hits station from Providence, Rhode Island.

Dart on Map - WDNE

Today's randomly thrown dart landed in the Monongahela National Forest just south of Durbin, West Virginia.


The closest sticker that I have to this area is from WDNE (W Davis aNd Elkins) in Elkins, West Virginia, about 25 miles north on U.S. Route 250 from where the dart landed. WDNE was apparently a Country music station when this decal came out in the early 1980s. They now carry an Adult Standards format.

WONE

AM 980 WONE is a Sports Talk station from right here in Dayton, Ohio. They no longer use the "Sports Animal" branding and are now affiliated with the Fox Sports Radio Network.

WJBX

"99X" WJBX is an Alternative-leaning Active Rock station from Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

WCQL

"Oldies 95.3" WCQL was on the air from 1988 until 1996 and licensed to York Center, Maine. 95.3 FM is now Top-40 "Kiss FM" WSKX.

KUBL

"K-Bull 93 FM" KUBL has been a Country station in Salt Lake City, Utah since 1995.

KOMB

103.9 FM KOMB is an Adult Hits station from Fort Scott, Kansas.
