College Radio Week - WGRE
Our third annual College Radio Week will focus on selected stations that made the Princeton Review's 20 "Most Popular" college radio stations list. We begin with DePauw University's WGRE.
Radio at Depauw University dates back to 1928 but it wasn't until 1949 that WGRE became the first educational FM station in Indiana. They are the largest student organization at the school with over 200 volunteers on staff and play mostly Alternative music. WGRE is licensed to (W)GREencastle, Indiana and was #2 on the Princeton Review list.

Mystery Stickers #21 & 22
K-Love is a giant Contemporary Christian radio network heard in 45 states on over 440 stations and translators. This 1998 sticker could easily be from more than one of their affiliates. In fact, a quick Google search found a K-Love station at 90.7 in Dyersburg, Tennessee (WZKV) and a translator at 90.7 in Golden Valley, Minnesota (K214DF.) Chances are we'll never know exactly which station this sticker is from.Uh-oh.
While filing away the 90.7 decal I found another K-Love mystery sticker for 104.7 FM.

WSOK
WSOK is a Gospel station from Savannah, Georgia with a long history of serving the African-American community. A 1974 article in Black Enterprise magazine states that the new owner was "to shift the station's emphasis from R-and-B and gospel to jazz and classical pieces performed by black artists." A 1980 Broadcasting Yearbook simply stated their format as Diversified and listed them as belonging to the Mutual Black Network.

Actual Sticker Sighting #13 - WQMX
I saw one of these WQMX stickers on a car in Columbus, Ohio while driving to see the Buffalo Bisons play the Columbus Clippers. I'm not sure which decal it was as they look very similar and my friend Jeff would like to point out that I "nearly got us killed" trying to get a good look at it while speeding on Interstate 70.
Here's an older WQMX sticker from their days as an Adult Contemporary station between 1988 and 1993. WQMX is currently a Country station licensed to Medina, Ohio near Akron.
