Radio Nostalgie

Radio Nostalgie is a network of stations throughout France that plays Oldies mainly from the 1960s through the 1980s.  They are based in Paris but began in the city of Lyon in 1983.  About 80% of the music heard on Radio Nostalgie is French.

WMAJ

According to the 1975 Broadcasting Yearbook, WMAJ was a "Contemporary" station licensed to State College, Pennsylvania.  1450 AM is currently WQWK an ESPN Radio affiliate.

Attack of the Killer B104s

 "B104" CHBZ is a Country station licensed to Cranbrook, British Columbia.

"B104" WAEB (W Allentown Easton, Bethlehem) has been a Top-40 station in Allentown, Pennsylvania since 1991.

"B104" WBSB was a Top-40 station in Baltimore, Maryland from 1980 to 1992.  104.3 FM is currently CHR "Z104.3" WZFT.

WRKZ is an Active Rock station in Columbus, Ohio.  They are now known as "The Blitz," a branding they also used prior to becoming "99.7 The Rock" in 2008.

KLUK

KLUK is a Classic Rock station in Needles, California.  The "Lucky 98 FM" signal is repeated on 103.9 FM licensed to Lake Havasu City, Arizona and 101.5 FM licensed to Kingman, AZ.

WMQM

WMQM is a Religious station in Memphis, Tennessee.  They are now located at 1600 AM and licensed to Lakeland, TN.

WZZQ

WZZQ was a Album Oriented Rock station in Jackson, Mississippi from 1973 until 1981.  Prior to this they were a Freeform/Progressive Rock station WJDX.  102.9 FM is currently Country WMSI "Miss 103."

WJDX

WJDX was a Progressive Rock station in Jackson, Mississippi from 1968 to 1973.  They then changed call letters to WZZQ but continued with Album Oriented Rock until the early 1980s.  102.9 FM is currently "Miss 103" WMSI airing a Country format.

WCSB

89.3 WCSB is the student-run radio station from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.  They've been on the air since 1976 and play a wide variety of music including Outlaw Country, Eastern Bloc Punk and Blues Noise.  They also carry programming for Cleveland's ethnic communities including Hungarian, Macedonian, Irish and Slovenian.

KXLS

KXLS is an Adult Contemporary station licensed to Lahoma, Oklahoma.

KQDI

"Q106" KQDI is a Classic Rock station in Great Falls, Montana.

KILE

 KILE was a Top-40 station licensed to Galveston, Texas.  They went on the air in September, 1957.  1400 AM is currently Religious KHCB now licensed to League City, TX.

KBUL

KBUL "K-Bull 98 FM" is a Country station licensed to Carson City, Nevada.

Mystery Sticker #26

Is this from WKGS - Irondequoit/Rochester, New York?  The world may never know...

UPDATE:  It's from WBKS - Indianapolis, Indiana circa the late 1990s/early 2000s.

3FM

3FM is a Pop/Rock station based in Hilversum, Netherlands.  Programming is provided by a handful of different public broadcasters sharing airtime on nine different freuencies throughout the country.

Radio Sticker of the Day Mailbag - CJWW

I received a second batch of radio stickers from Adam in Saskatchewan today.  Along with the mostly Canadian decals were a few American and European stickers, some reel to reel labels and stationery as well as mini station histories.  Thanks Adam!!

Adam sent this odd CJWW sticker that has a few bonus farm animal mini stickers suitable for any tractor.

Saskatoon Saskatchewan's CJWW (CJ Western World Communications) went on the air in 1976 at 1370 AM and adopted a Country format in 1980.

 They moved to 750 AM in 1985.

 And moved again in 1995, this time to their current home of 600 AM.

France Bleu

France Bleu is a network of more than three dozen local and regional stations owned by Radio France.  Local programming is combined with national content from their base in Paris whose main frequency is 107.1 FM.  France Bleu Armorique originates from the city of Rennes on 103.1 FM and France Bleu Alsace is at 102.6 FM from Mulhouse.

I Want Power!

I've been without electricity since Friday after a quick yet damaging storm blew through the area two days ago.  Temperatures are in the upper 90s and I'm jealous of the people across the street who never lost power.  Add in the neighbor with the annoying, super-loud, gas-powered generator, finding a place to keep the contents of my refrigerator and walking the house by flashlight at night...it's been a frustrating time.

 "Power 103" KCDD is a Rhythmic Contemporary station licensed to Hamlin, Texas.

"Power 94.3" WZKB was an Oldies/Adult Contemporary station licensed to Wallace, North Carolina circa 2001.  They currently carry a Spanish Religious format.

"Power 92.5" CKNG was a Hot Adult Contemporary station in Edmonton, Alberta circa 2004.
