SWR Südwestrundfunk

SWR (Südwestrundfunk, "Southwest Broadcasting") is a public broadcasting company covering the southwest part of Germany.  It broadcasts on six radio channels as well as multiple television channels.  SWR was established in 1998 after the dissolution of predecessor organizations SDR and SWF.

SWR1 plays Pop/Rock from the 1960s through the 1980s as well as some current hits.  SWR1 operates two regional versions, one for Baden-Wurttemberg and the other for Rheinland-Pfalz.

SWR2 is Talk programming along with radio plays, spoken word features as well as Jazz and Classical music.

SWR3 plays Pop and Contemporary music targeting 14 to 39 year olds.

SWR4 plays German hits and oldies with the same two regional versions as SWR1 as well sub-local versions within each.

SWR Aktuell broadcasts News and current affairs programming.

DASDING is ad-free, youth-oriented radio hosted mostly by young people. 

CKMA

850 AM CKMA "Radio MAX" was an Oldies station licensed to Abbotsford, British Columbia circa the mid-to-late 1990s.

KBYS

88.3 KBYS is a non-commercial, community radio station broadcasting from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  They went on the air in May 2014.

Radio Porte Sud

Radio Port Sud broadcast from 1985 until 1996 from the city of Mulhouse in eastern France.

WYMS

88.9 FM WYMS (We're Your Milwaukee Schools) is an Adult Album Alternative station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  They are owned by the city's public school system and originally carried a Jazz format when they went on the air in 1973.

WQTQ

"89.9 Qute FM" WQTQ operates out of Weaver High School in Hartford, Connecticut.  They are the only high school station I know of that carries a full-time Urban Contemporary format.  The 115-watt station started in 1971 with a $15,000 dollar donation from the Aetna Life Insurance Company.

WJYM

730 AM WJYM is a Religious station in Bowling Green, Ohio.  They are owned by televangelist Jimmy Swaggart (The "Jim" in the call letters) and are part of his SonLife Radio Network.

WEVR

WEVR AM & FM broadcast from River Falls, Wisconsin.  They air a Soft Adult Contemporary format along with news/farm reports and Milwaukee Brewers baseball.

KTIG

102.7 FM KTIG is a Religious station licensed to Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.  They went on the air in 1978 and were located at 100.1 on the FM dial.

KIWI

92.1 FM KIWI signed on in the mid-1980s with a Classical music format and later aired Spanish-language programming as "Radio Lobo."  They were licensed to Bakersfield, California.

The KIWI call letters are still in the same market at 102.9 FM although now licensed to McFarland, CA.  "Radio Lobo" is a 25,000-watt Regional Mexican station.

CIMX

CIMX "89X" is a Modern Rock station in Windsor, Ontario.  In 1990 they were known as "The Mix" and carried an Adult Contemporary format.  They started playing Alternative Rock at night and took the format full time in 1991.  CIMX is part of the Detroit, Michigan radio market and their signal also reaches into the Toledo area as well.

WNCM

88.1 FM WNCM was a Contemporary Christian station in Jacksonville, Florida.

Midwest Radio

Midwest Radio 96.1 FM broadcasts from Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland.  The formerly unlicensed pirate station went on the air officially in July 1989.  Programming includes current and classic hits, country music, news/talk and Sunday religious shows.
