WCFB? WCEN?

I just discovered that I had two of these "B94.5" stickers.  One says WCFB on the back and the other says WCEN.  Daytona Beach, Florida's WCFB (now "Star 94.5") was a Country station "B94.5" in the early 1990s.  WCEN in Saginaw/Bay City, Michigan is a Country station but I can't find any proof that they were ever known as "B94.5"   Anybody know for sure what station this sticker is from?  Leave a comment.

Portugal Part III / Radio Comercial

From Porto we took a train to southern Portugal and stayed for a few days in a quaint fishing village called Salema. We took a tuktuk tour of a few places in the Algarve Region and saw some gorgeous beaches, landscapes and fortresses.  The Bengali caves in Lagos were particularly stunning.  Our last stop before catching the train back to Lisbon was a jewelry workshop in Albufeira where we each made our own rings.

Radio Comercial is a national broadcaster based in Lisbon with multiple frequencies around the country.  They began in 1979 as part of Radiodifusao Portuguesa with the name being chosen because it was the only RDP station to allow advertising at the time.  Radio Comercial airs contemporary Pop and Rock music.

Portugal Part II / RFM 104.1

The next part of our trip began with a bus ride from Lisbon to the beautiful northern city of Porto.  Tour stops over the next three days included Braga, Guimarães, Amarante and the Douro Valley, home to their famous Port wine.  We also took a boat tour highlighting Porto's many bridges.

RFM is a Pop music station with dozens of frequencies across the country including 104.1 FM in Porto.  They went on the air as Radio Renascença in January 1987.

Portugal Part I / Nova Antena

We recently got back from a fantastic 12 day vacation to Portugal.  It was our first time in Europe and it definitely did not disappoint. The trip was split into three sections:  Lisbon and surrounding areas, Porto and the Douro Valley and finally the Algarve Region including Faro, Lagos and the beaches of southern Portugal.  Our overnight flight landed around 9AM but we couldn't check into our hotel for awhile so we dropped off our luggage and walked around the city like zombies--neither of us slept a wink on the plane.  We did a walking tour of Alfama which is the oldest (and possibly hilliest) neighborhood in the city.  It survived an earthquake and subsequent tsunami in 1755 which destroyed the rest of Lisbon.  The next day was a bicycle tour with many stops along the waterfront and some interesting history along the way.  Day three consisted of an all-day tour of Sintra including Pena Palace and the beautiful grounds of Quinta da Regaleira.  We then spent a couple nights in Cascais and enjoyed walking the beachfront promenade to Estoril.

Elevador da Glória funicular
UPDATE:  About four months after this shot was taken, the cable disconnected from this exact funicular (or the unpictured companion trolley that uses the parallel track--I'm not sure which.) 16 people were killed and 21 injured after the tram sped down the hill, jumped the track and smashed into a building.

Radio Nova Antena broadcasts at 101.3 FM from Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal.  Apparently they used to have a signal in Lisbon (or perhaps this sticker is from a different Radio Nova Antena and not the current RNA.
