WRFK in Richmond, Virginia began in 1957 as a non-commercial Classical/Religious station broadcasting at 91.1 FM.  They moved to 102.9 FM two years later and again to 106.5 FM in 1962.  They had been owned by the United Theological Seminary who sold the station and they became a commercial Rock 40 station with call letters WVMX.
