KRLD
KRLD has been broadcasting in Dallas, Texas since Halloween Day, 1926. Dallas Radio Laboratories originally owned the station but the call letters KDRL were already taken so they changed the name of the business to Radio Laboratories of Dallas and became KRLD instead. Sports were a major part of their programming--they were the flagship station of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1970s and 80s and were the home of the Texas Rangers from 1995 to 2011. KRLD boasts many firsts in the radio industry:
--The first station to broadcast live high school and college sports.
--The first to report continuous election returns.
--The first to broadcast "live" music and entertainment programs
--and the first station in the world to sell commercials.
KRLD is all-News from 5AM to 8PM with Talk programming at night and weekends.
