105.9 WVVV started broadcasting in 1964 from Blacksburg, Virginia. About 20 years ago they must have carried a Rock format as I found them on a
1992 list of affiliate stations for the syndicated show
Rockline which appeared on an
email list for fans of the band Rush.

They were actually 104.9 and Switched Frequency's & Calls with WRDJ Oldies 105.3 in Roanoke in 1995. And Is NOW, 105.3 The BEAR (still rock music) in Blacksburg, VA. Facility's in Fairlawn, VA. 1053thebear.com
