WPDX went on the air in Clarksburg, West Virginia in August, 1947. They broadcast during daylight hours only to protect the clear channel signal of WSB in Atlanta, Georgia which has the same 750 AM frequency. They currently simulcast the Classic Country format of sister station
WPDX-FM.
