1330 WROS once existed on the airwaves in Scottsboro, Alabama. I pulled up a Broadcasting Yearbook from 1976 (I guessed at the year) and they listed them as having a MOR/Country& Western/Rock format. I guess bums on radio stickers was a thing back in the 70s.

It's not a bum on the sticker. It is a hillbilly living out out on the Tennessee River. My Aunt Rose Kirby started this station around 1948 and ran it by herself. She sold the station in the 1970's. The call sign stood for the "Wild Rose of Scottsboro" and "Wonderful Resort of the South". She chose ROS because her name was Rose. She passed away in January of 1989 and is buried in the Scottsboro Cemetery with her Husband Hugh. duggarc@cableone.net
