WFFV, which had it's studios in Middletown and for years had it's tower along I-81 outside Strasburg (later moving it up on Great North Mountain in western Frederick County, Virginia), changed hands a few times ultimately becoming part of iHeartRadio.
Today, WFFV is callsigned as WFQX-FM (the -FM because there is a WFQX-TV in Michigan) and their studios are located right beside the runway of Winchester Regional Airport in Winchester, VA.
WFQX currently carries a Classic Rock format as "The Fox", but did carry an Alternative Rock format as "The Frog" in the late 90s.
Some side trivia, Barry Lee, the long time morning DJ at WINC-FM (now EMF-owned WAIW) got his start at WFFV, in the mornings, with his "Breakfast with Barry Lee" show. After Barry retired from WINC, he started a podcast with the same name. He still does commericals (from home) for WINC-FM and half-sisters WINC-AM and WXVA-AM (owned by different companies, but run from the same location).
