KRKQ
98.3 FM KRKQ was on the air in Des Moines, Iowa from 1996 to 2003. At first they played Classic Rock but transitioned to Classic Hits as "Magic 98.3" then flipped to Adult Contemporary as "The River."
The KRKQ callsign lives on at the nation's only "Chill" formatted station. KRKQ, licensed to Mountain Village (near Telluride) in Colorado, airs Chill, EDM, Ambient, and Dub style music.
While KRKQ, which brands as "Mountain Chill" is the only "Chill" station on the air, they weren't the first. That would be KLBU/Santa Fe, New Mexico, which aired a similar format from 2003 to 2013. KRKQ came on the air in 2011.

Greg Can you find some KWTO-FM bumper stickers back when they at 98.7 under their monikers "Rock 99" and later "99 Hit FM"?

Vaughn--I don't have any KWTO stickers except from when they were a Sports station. I think they were "The Buzzard" at one point too.
