WFMU


A couple more stickers from the longest-running Freeform station in the United States. 91.1 WFMU is licensed to East Orange, New Jersey. Their WMFU repeater station at 90.1 FM is licensed to Mount Hope, New York.

A sheet of temporary tattoos that were purchased from Crapola Central, where you can buy a variety of logoed station stuff including stickers, shirts, magnets and even loaded dice.

Vinyl Record Day

Today is Vinyl Record Day which is dedicated to "the preservation of the cultural influence, the recordings and the cover art of vinyl records." It also coincides with the day Thomas Edison invented the phonograph in 1877.

WFMU is a Freeform station licensed to East Orange, New Jersey. They also run a fantastic blog and sell their supercool stickers at their online store. Another WFMU decal can be seen here.

Dog Days of Summer

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the dog days of summer in the northern hemisphere begin today and last until August 11th. This coincides with the rising--at sunrise--of the Dog Star, Sirius...hence the name "dog days."

"Big Dog 106" KIOC is an Active Rock station licensed to Orange, Texas.

"97.3 The Dawg" KMDL is a Country station licensed to Kaplan, Louisiana. The call letters came about because 97.3 appears in the MiDdLe of an analog radio dial.

WXLT was a Classic Rock station licensed to Carterville, Illinois. 95.1 FM is currently WUEZ "Magic 95.1," an Adult Contemporary station.
