IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!...again, Part II
Back in May the delusional preacher Harold Camping predicted the world would end. When that didn't happen and he tried to explain his way out he then claimed that the end would come today, October 21, 2011. Lately though, Camping has been hedging his doomsday bet by saying the world will "probably" end today. While we wait for Harold's next non-event to take place, here's a sticker from the Camping-owned Family Radio.

Boss's Day
Today, all across America, employees are celebrating Boss's Day by pretending to appreciate their workplace superiors by giving them a gift card or a mug. Boss's Day was started in 1958 by an insurance company secretary in Illinois. By 1979 Hallmark had made the holiday semi-official by starting to offer Boss's Day cards. I didn't realize what day it was until after coming home from work. Sorry boss.

They took much of the staff of another early Rock station in Phoenix--KCAC--and quickly overtook their competition, helped by simulcasting the signal on an AM sister station as many radios at the time couldn't tune in FM. KDKB celebrated their 40th anniversary this past August.Friday, October 14, 2011
