WCAO



600 AM WCAO went on the air in Baltimore, Maryland in 1922.  From the 1950s through the 70s they were a powerhouse Rock/Top-40 station before flipping to Country in 1982.  They've been a Gospel station since 1991 and are currently known as "Heaven 600."

91.5 FM WRPI is run by the students at (W) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York near Albany.  They went on the air in 1957 although radio broadcasting on the campus of RPI goes back to AM station WHAZ in the early 1920s.

KUZZ

 




KUZZ AM 550 and FM 107.9 are simulcast Country stations in Bakersfield, California.  Their call letters refer to "Cousin" Herb Henson, a country music performer and local television celebrity who was the station's manager in the early 1960s.  In 1966 the late country legend Buck Owens bought KUZZ and his estate still owns them today.

740 AM KRMG airs a News/Talk format in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  They went on the air in December 1949 and were originally owned by Robert S KerR and Dean McGee.  Talk show host John Erling was on KRMG for almost 30 years.  Sometime around 1976 Erling created the fantasy/joke about the non-existent Tulsa Mountains.
