AM 1300 WHLT went on the air in 1957 and the FM half followed in 1965. They originally broadcast from the (W) Hotel LaFonTaine in Huntington, Indiana. By the mid-1970s 103.1 FM had become WHUZ and were eventually bought by the owners of Ft. Wayne's WOWO. Both frequencies are currently unused in the state of Indiana. The AM 1300 towers were cut down in an apparent act of vandalism after the station went silent.

Dude u are cool. I vaguely remember this sticker. My dad Ron Clark was the GM of this station and he was the one who added the FM in 1965. I think he was there 1962 - 1973. Sorry I don't have any old swag.

Happy to bring back some memories for you!

I worked at WHLT from 1968 until 1970 when I went off to college. I don't remember the sticker but I do remember Ron Clark and Bob Hartle as the two who made the place go. Tom Barnes and I did "Twilight Tunes" every night on the FM frequency after the AM went off at sunset. Well, it was Twilight Tunes except on nights when there were high school football or basketball games. Ron Clark did the play by play along with Bob Meese and they did a pretty good job of it for small market radio. JSees
My wife and I used to live a couple trailers down from one of the station engineers. I cant remember his name off hand, but he lived at Parrets trailer ct on Evergreen road and drove a blue vw bug.
